Dehumidifiers for all industrial sectors

Industrial dehumidifiers are essential equipment for controlling humidity in sensitive environments. By regulating humidity levels, they prevent corrosion, mould, product degradation and production stoppages caused by condensation.

DESSICA, a recognised expert in the manufacture and commercialisation of industrial dehumidifiers, has been supporting professionals for over 25 years, across a wide range of sectors: agri-food, pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, logistics, etc.

Our comprehensive range meets a wide variety of needs:

  • Mobile dehumidifiers for occasional use or specific areas,
  • Fixed or ducted solutions integrated into your facilities for continuous air treatment,
  • Bespoke configurations adapted to each industrial environment.

What is an industrial dehumidifier?

With over 20 years of expertise in industrial air dehumidification, DESSICA designs and manufactures its own range of desiccant dehumidifiers. DESSICA is 100% French and owned by its employees. It is the only manufacturer in France to produce its equipment entirely in its workshops located near Lyon. This complete control from design to production guarantees high-performance and reliable solutions, tailored to the requirements of manufacturers in France and Europe. DESSICA dehumidifiers are designed exclusively for industrial applications. They meet the needs required for storage, production processes, dry-air preservation and product drying.

Industrial dehumidifiers essentially operate using two technologies: either condensation, where humid air is cooled until the water vapour condenses and is removed, or adsorption (desiccation), where a wheel or adsorbent material captures humidity from the air, which is then blown outside.

Operating principle of a desiccant dehumidifier

The difference between a dehumidifier and an air dryer: a dehumidifier (condensation type) is used in moderate temperature ranges (between approximately +7 °C and +35 °C) to bring the relative humidity of the air back to ‘normal’ conditions.

DESSICA professional condensation dehumidifiers operate on a refrigeration principle: equipped with R454C refrigerant, they lower the air temperature to create condensation and to remove moisture from the ambient air. On the other hand, an air dryer (adsorption type) is suitable when very low humidity levels (e.g. <30%) need to be reached or when there is a need of operating at low temperatures (down to -15°C), while generating a significant temperature increase (+15 to +20°C). The DESSICA desiccant wheel dehumidifier is based on a proven dehumidification principle, using a desiccant rotor capable of lowering the humidity level.

Our range of professional dehumidifiers

DESSICA dehumidifiers cover a wide range of air flow rates, from 200 m³/h to 38,000 m³/h, to suit both small installations and large-scale industrial processes.

  • Mobile dehumidifiers: equipped with large-diameter wheels, suitable for use on stairs.
  • Fixed dehumidifiers: compact, fixed dehumidifier that can be installed on a wall bracket.
  • Ducted dehumidifiers: ducted with a standard diameter junction, compact and suitable for installation in attics or suspended ceilings.

  • Adsorption dehumidifiers: :
  • Mini and single-phase dehumidifiers: from 200m³/h to 1000m³/h of air. Designed for storage, conservation and protection of equipment and buildings.
  • High air flow dehumidifiers from 550 to 1100 m³/h with a nominal capacity of 8.2 to 54 kg/hour (at 20°C and 60% RH). Designed for the building sector and industrial needs, for the storage, conservation and protection of equipment and buildings.
  • Dehumidifiers for industrial processes from 450 to 8,800 m³/h. Designed for production and packaging environments as well as for drying processes.

How to choose your professional dehumidifier?

The choice of a professional dehumidifier depends on several key criteria related to your needs and your operating environment. It is important to assess the required dehumidification capacity based on the volume of air to be treated and the target humidity level, to determine whether a mobile or fixed solution is most suitable, as well as the preferred type of installation (stand-alone, integrated, ducted, etc.). The conditions of use — ambient temperature, humidity level, type of premises (storage, production, clean room, etc.) — also influence the choice between condensation and desiccant technology. Finally, criteria such as noise level, energy consumption and ease of maintenance should also be considered.
